As you can see from the following, Homer is growing! Also proving true to his heritage as a mighty hunting dog, though badgers are thin on the ground in Santa Fe; thus his alternate prey.
Homer is such a cutie! I love his long ears! Dachshunds are just the best dogs, aren't they? So, this is totally dorky, but I actually organize (with my mom) an annual wiener dog walk parade in Rogue River, Oregon. There are some really cute pics on this website I made for my parents. 2nd annual Wiener Dog Parade
Awesome Blog Diana! I'm so excited for the next book! I started this group on goodreads for Outlander and it already has 86 members! Good Reads Outlander Group
I think I've died and gone to heaven! Thank you, thank you Michelle for the Good Reads tip! I don't know how I've gone all this time without ever hearing about Good Reads, and it's right up my alley. And I'll definitely be joining the Outlanders group! :)
He doesn't have the stuffing all over the floor... my dachsund (who as a puppy looked very much like the adorable dapple puppy in the Weiner dog parade photos that Michelle linked) tears the stuffing out of toys like that, once he kills the squeaker that is! Homer is a cutie- thanks for the photos!
Oh, he disembowels stuffed toys, believe me. [g] Blue Octopus is a hollow rubber squeaker, though--excellent for killing by whacking it to and fro on the floor (as you can tell by the flying ears), but much less likely to be left in pieces all over the floor. (He has a giant pink octopus that has just perished ignominiously under my office chair--that one being a stuffed plush thing.)
Why is it that some do that and others don't? I've yet to figure that one out. I have a four year old dobe who carries his stuffed bunny around like it's his baby and guards it from the two year old dobe with his life. The two year old on the other hand is also a squeaky killer and the stuffed toys don't last ten minutes.
I don't care. Homer is just a little doll. He needs a BoBo though. Like the commercial? ;-)
Homer is most handsome -- and I hope we will have a glimpse of JJ soon, too?
My Asher and Joseph (both mini dapples) perform sqeakectomies and fluffosuctions with regularity on their plush toys. The last wild goose must have been a tough old bird, though...it lasted nearly 45 minutes before its demise.
I'm the author of the OUTLANDER novels--which Salon.com described as "the smartest historical sci-fi adventure/romance ever written by a science Ph.D. with a background in scripting Uncle Scrooge comic books."
I'm not sure I could describe them any better. [g]
Awww, Diana, he's adorable! I know, not the best adjective for a courageous...octopus hunter. ;) But he is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fierce little laddie! I'm sure he gets lots of love from his mommy, and he should. Homer's a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteMidge
He's so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love the second picture where he looks into the camera.
Send him to me. As you know, I have lots of prey available, day and night, and he's welcome to hunt to his heart's content.
ReplyDeletePam
Only problem, Pam. Squirrels are high in cholesterol. *snort* And you wouldn't want Homer to have trouble now, would you? ;)

Dear Michelle--
ReplyDeleteHaha! There's nothing like a weiner dog, that's true. [g] _Very_ cute photos!
And many thanks, btw, for starting the OUTLANDER goodreads group--I wasn't familiar with the site, but it looks fascinating!
I think Homer might be winning.
ReplyDeleteA/k/a Homer's Odyssey?

ReplyDeleteWhat a fine, braw fellow fighting the dreaded blue octopus. Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle for the GoodReads group. I'm there!
LOVE that sassy look he gives the camera! It's too adorable...little smoosh...
ReplyDeleteBy the way Diana - how is the Final Frenzy coming along?
ReplyDeleteRawr, or rather, grrr, to the Mighty Hunter!

Oh, and he knows how cute he is - the way he looks into the camera... great! The fierce hunter killing the dreadful blue beast, heehee.

Doxies are awesome! I have a six year old named Copper. He has a big sister Mabel who is a Pitt and they love to play and snuggle, but he is the BOSS!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, how sweet is that. You have to love the dogs that just enjoy playing and are too adorable while doing so.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!!! Great entertainment while you work!! Pets are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteClearly, Homer is channelling Rollo. Vicious attack wolf.
