Never Been Viral Before...

...but the fabulous Nikki has done it! Don't think it'll last [g], but her terrific book-trailer at http://www.youtube.com/user/voyagesoftheartemis?feature=mhum#p/a/u/0/D-BRb2ipU5I has had 2750 clicks in the last day and a half---causing YouTube to ask whether we want to take ads for our "viral video." [g]

We don't, but we surely do appreciate all the clicks! (And we hope you'll enjoy the book as much as the trailer...!)

  1. I was one of those clicks. I played it at least 3 times. I loved the beautiful music.

  3. When I first started seeing trailers posted for upcoming book releases I was puzzled, but they're definitely fun! Congrats on Exile's going viral! I was one of those clicks yesterday. Nikki did a super job!

  6. Dear Estee--

Well, you know...it's probably a good idea to get the Outlander:The Musical CD to play while reading it. [g] Atmospheric, you know?

  11. See how much we love Jamie & Claire? Please don't let Book 8 be the last!

  12. I was wondering if there was a schedule for the times you would be at NY Comic Con. Will you be there all 3 days or just a portion of them?

  13. Dear Anonymous--

I'll be doing a panel (with the editor of THE EXILE) at Comic Con on Friday the 8th, 3-4:15 PM, and then doing a book-signing (in the Signing Area, wherever that is) right afterward. So far as I know, that'll be my only appearance there.

  14. I couldn't stay away...visiting the site several times yesterday. The close up of Jamie's face is wonderful, those eyes especially. And Claire...the artist does beautiful faces.
I have the CD, having ordered it weeks ago and am very familiar with the music by now...and combined with the visual I am not surprised that the 'viral' presentation received so much attention. Good job, Nikki, thanks Diana

  15. Will there be a German version of The Exhile as well? I know my Mom would LOVE to read it but unfortunately she doesn't speak english.

  16. Dear Linda--

Well, the German publisher is not convinced that there's a market for graphic novels in Germany, but depending how THE EXILE does elsewhere, I suppose they might change their minds. [g] And/or if a lot of people write to Bertelsmann asking for it.

  17. So I guess I will need to start convincing some people over here... :) I'd rather not translate the whole thing to my Mom, reading it out loud to her while we both admire the wedding night scene... :D

  18. Count me among the clickers! Beautiful job on the trailer to add to the anticipation. I'll be at the bookstore bright and early on Tuesday. Hope you can sign my copy of The Exile in Westbury, NY in October - we'll be driving there from Western Massachusetts!

  21. I enjoyed the trailer and also just watched your interview with Barnes & Noble, which I really enjoyed as well. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of Exile this weekend!

  22. FYI, you are #1 on the Library of Congress/WP poll for favorite author pre-book festival in DC. I love your books and loved having classes with your sister a few years ago in law school. I really wish I was going to be in town for this!!

  24. I -just- finished reading The Exile (in about 2 hours). WONDERFUL!! I love it. I'm going to make friends and family read it and hopefully get them hooked on the Novels.

Also, looking at some fan art in the back, I thought you might like this one of Jamie:

  27. My husband and I read and enjoyed the Exile very much. My husband (who counts the bullets fired in a movie and generally keeps track of those things) wondered about the gun Jaimie is holding on the cover. He says it lookslike a revolver...which is not an 18th century weapon. I told him to just hush. We both are Outlander fanatics, though so it doesnt really matter. And wowie, Geillis was really EXPOSeD in her final scenes in the book!!!!! Diana, we love your writing!

  28. LOVE LOVE LOVE _The Exile_! The artwork is incredible and captured everyone exactly as I imagined them in the stories. And to see things from "Jamie's side of the story" was a gift. It's absolutely fantastic.

Will we be seeing more of the story in graphic novel form?

  29. Dear Jesse--

Well, that's kind of up to you guys. [g] By which I mean--it depends how well this one sells.
