For the Corgi-lovers....the elusive Charlie! (hiding under the coffee-table while being molested by a nosy dachshund)--and also, Elder Daughter with her corgi, Badger.
And now I must be going and adding the finishing touches to the new website!
Thank you for continuing to write the Outlander novels. They are indeed "outstanding." I have attended more than one gathering of interested readers to discuss the books. The gatherings are always fun, interesting, and filled with some ah-ha moments as well as laughter, over the enjoyment we all share for every novel in the series!
Many thanks! My husband often says that the marketing slogan for the OUTLANDER novels should be, "Read the Book; Join the Family"--since so many groups (online and off) have formed around them.
I agree with zaZen and your husband, Diana. I've passed along the book to some fellow female teachers and we are in love with the series. The funniest part is when we are discussing some of the more interesting scenes of the book and a student walks up to us in the hallway to ask a question. The conversation instantly stops and we put on our professional teacher hat and answer the student. Once he/she walks away we are back to our little huddle giggling like the middle school students we teach. Such fun!
Its true "Outlander families" pop up in all sorts of places. I belong to a knitting group online where projects and swaps are oriented to the Outlander novels. We are planning a Fiery Cross swap soon, we also have a knit-along starting with a pair of Scottish themed socks. Its great fun, we discuss the books and revel in our other passion...knitting. Your dogs are adorable...our l35 lb English mastiff wouldn't stand a chance with them. :) Bright Blessings, lauren
I had some friends over for lunch today and we got talking about Tasha Tudor and her books. She was an author and illustrator of childrens books and a lover of corgi's. She invented Corgiville! What a surprise to see your blog about your Corgis tonight.
An old friend from high school has several corgis and all over her facebook page and blog is pictures of corgis. Yours are very cute!
**I did want to add... I just recently (yesterday) started to follow your blog (which I just discovered when I went on your website looking for information on Book 8). It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do so to speak. I have, though, been a lover of your books since I was about 14 years old (I am now 27). My dad was the one who introduced me to them (and to the love of reading when I was a baby, which has only grown and I hope to pass on to my 2 boys (Hunter 4, Jaxon 2)). He felt that I would like them as much as he did (though he would tell me that beore I was to receive the next one in the series he would have to read them to ascertain that it was apropriate for me, but would always hand it over in the end)which of course he was right. All my friends were amazed that I was engrossed in these huge books at 14-17 years of age. Plus the fact tey would remember when I would reread them again once I had reach the end of however many I had of the series. My love for them has not waivered in the slightest. My dad is actually behind on reading them now. I have also read all the Lord John books and love them as much (well, nothing will equal to Jaime and Claire). So I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for your stories which have made me go through every emotion good and bad during the story, have the feeling as if the characters are family, and build a bond between my dad and I. Thank you! I have just finished Echo and have now restarted Outlander (which mysteriously disappeared when I was 17, which my husband so graciously got for me for Christmas on my new Kindle (Christmas also)). I, of course, anxiously await the new Lord John short, and have gotten, but not read yet the short about Roger's parents, and am hinting at my husband for the graphic novel, and not to forget Book 8.
Thank you again for the years of enjoyment. You are an amazing woman and author.
Thanks! And do thank your dad for me, too. {g} As my first editor used to say, "These _have_ to be word-of-mouth books, because they're too weird to describe to anybody!"
ahhhh a new website ! nice.. maybe for more tantilising tit bits from book eight ?? One can only hope :) Trust me I live in hope for more of book eight as I am loving what I have seen so far !!!!!!
I have been a fan since 1995. I bought the paperbacks first and shared them with girlfriends. We were always discussing Claire & Jamie as if we were friends (or relatives!)
When I went to Books A Million to buy the graphic novel, the clerk (a man) wanted to know what was so exciting about a "comic book" I proceeded to educate him about Claire, Jamie and all. When i was finished, he said he would start reading them :)
Three volumes of the adventures of Lord John Grey + "Lord John and the Succubus" were published in France, but they are hard to find (especially for the first volume translated into French: "Lord John and the Private Matter"), do you know if they will be republished soon and if the last volumes will be translated in French too?
Thank you so much for the Outlander novels, it's like a drug, but not dangerous and very very good! my best wishes for the New Year.
This is wildly off-topic, but I just watched the movie Willow for the first time in years (the Ron Howard 1980s cult classic) and had to laugh, because Mad Martigan (Val Kilmer) and Sorcia (Joanne Whalley, then his future wife) look and act the way I would image Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie! Craving THAT book, btw. :)
Do you tell somewhere in the series...who gave Jamie's mother the ivory bracelets? I have read the series and don't remember. I am reading Outlander again and just curious. Thanks! Christina
Oh, silly me! I just read about the bracelets! Sorry I cluttered your page! LOL I shall clutter it just a bit more if you don't mind. Have you written more about Jamie's parents? Thanks again! Christina
This constantly amazes me just how blog owners such as your self can find the time as well as the dedication to keep on crafting superb blog posts. Your website is good and one of my personal must read weblogs. I just had to thank you.
Diana Gabaldon is an outstanding story teller. Outlander is a big read - it is full of romance, adventure, magic and history. When Claire is transported from mid 20th century Scotland back to the 1740s she is surrounded by a wild country, warring clansmen, heroes, villains and much more. This book never slows down despite its length. The author manages effortlessly to also transport the reader back to this adventurous and romantic time. I think it would be hard for any reader not to be engulfed by the romance between Claire and the headstrong young Jamie Fraser. However, be warned, it is not a gentle romanctic read full of swelling bosoms and hinted-at lovemaking. This book is full of raw, untamed sex and somewhat graphic violence.

[................]I am very much appreciate to see this kind of post. Its really to good post. Its really informative and educative too. It is so much funny and we can receive a good training from it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
This is uncontrollably off-theme, yet I simply viewed the motion picture Willow without precedent in years (the Ron Howard 1980s religion excellent) and needed to giggle, for the reason that Mad Martigan (Val Kilmer) and Sorcia (Joanne Whalley, then his fate wife) look and act the way I might visualization Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie! Aching for THAT book, btw.
And earning money online using it is as easy as 1..2..3!
Here are the steps to make it work...
STEP 1. Input into the system what affiliate products the system will push STEP 2. Add PUSH BUTTON traffic (it LITERALLY takes 2 minutes) STEP 3. See how the system explode your list and sell your affiliate products all on it's own!
I am happy to find this post very useful for me, as it contains lot of information. I always prefer to read the quality content and this thing I found in you post. Thanks for sharing. GST Result 2021

I'm the author of the OUTLANDER novels--which Salon.com described as "the smartest historical sci-fi adventure/romance ever written by a science Ph.D. with a background in scripting Uncle Scrooge comic books."
I'm not sure I could describe them any better. [g]
Thank you! Charlie's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the corgi pictures! My kids loved them!
